Technology Marketing SummaryThis technology describes methods to fabricate supercapacitors using aligned carbon nanotubes that are decorated with metal oxide or nitride nanoparticles.DescriptionThe two important parameters to describe a supercapacitor are the energy storage or density (energy per unit mass) and power density (power per unit mass).  By combining aligned carbon nanotubes with metal oxides, this technology has higher energy density than technologies based solely on carbon nanotubes, while having higher power density than other technologies based solely on metal oxides. The nanocomposite technology can be used with a wide variety of metal oxides, allowing both the performance and cost to be varied to meet commercial battery requirements.Benefits
