Ion exchange polymers for anion separations

Anion exchange resins including at least two positively charged sites and a ell-defined spacing between the positive sites are provided together with a process of removing anions or anionic metal complexes from aqueous solutions by use of such resins. The resins can be substituted poly(vinylpyridine) and substituted polystyrene.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to ion exchange resins and to a process of separating anions, including anionic metal complexes, using such ion exchange resins. This invention is the result of a contract with the United States Department of Energy (Contract No. W-7405-ENG-36).
