A method of remediation of one or more of an animal, mineral, or vegetable for beryllium. The method includes the steps of applying .alpha.-aminobenzyl-.alpha.,.alpha.,-diphosphoric acid to the one or more of the animal, mineral, or vegetable; and allowing chelation of the beryllium.
