In one aspect, a communication system configured to communicate information in real-time between remote locations is disclosed. The communication system includes a portable camera apparatus having a video camera configured to capture and transmit video signals between remote locations. A receiver apparatus is configured to receive video signals transmitted by the camera apparatus. The receiver apparatus is configured to scan the received video signals and establish a lock on a video signal having a highest signal strength among the video signals received by individual ones of antennas of an antenna array of the receiver apparatus.
